Design Consultation

Red Granite Farm offers a variety of consulting services.  Nicole has many years of garden design experience in her own yard and over 25 years of experience in the garden center and landscape industry.

Consulting services are for the DIY’er, as we do not offer installation services. Nicole loves to talk plants and will do some landscape sketching to assist you in your garden design.  She’ll work on the area of your yard that you are going to tackle for this season and make general plans for future years. Most landscapes are not completed in one year and things change over time. She can assist you though all sizes of projects from small perennial beds to entire home landscape projects. Hardscaping and planning for retaining walls and patios are left up to the landscape contractors. Landscape bed layout and plant selection will be focused on as part of the landscape design.

Sometimes a landscape plan is not necessary, so for an hourly fee, Nicole will come to your home and just do a walk around with you, as you take notes with her recommendations. This service is great for anyone that just wants to know more about their existing landscape and how to add or delete plants to spruce things up!

Good pictures and measurements can greatly help garden center staff assist you when you visit RGF.  The garden center staff can “design on the fly” for small projects with good information from you. This service is free of charge, but if you want to talk to Nicole, an appointment is encouraged. The display gardens at RGF are open to the public, you’ll likely find inspiration there!
